Joe Madden Clip Reflection
Honestly, I didn't know what to expect when the town of Hazleton was mentioned. I've worked with some lumpers and distribution centers out of Hazelton, but I've never seen the city before. From looking at the town in which Joe Madden grew up, and the present-day Hazelton, those looked like two different cities. Joe Madden did a wonderful job integrating the Mexican culture and helping to establish a better community when he created the HIT center. I think its a difficult job to bring together two cultures to benefit a town. When Joe's cousin, the restaurant owner, the first Mexican bank clerk, and the teacher at the HIT center mentioned that the town was striving from adding different things to their businesses to help each race, that's when I began to think that more towns should do this and maybe it wouldn't be such a difficult world out there. How wonderful it could be if there was a HIT center in downtown Detroit...
